  • Since moving here in 2017, I’ve fallen in love with this community—its warmth, its close-knit feeling, and the way neighbours truly look out for one another. It’s one of the rare places where people still know and trust their neighbours, and that sense of connection is something I want to nurture and help grow.

  • I’m a translator by trade, but for many years, much of my energy has gone into raising my children and being present for them day to day. Until recently, I was fortunate to work part-time from home, giving me the chance to be closely involved in their lives and, by extension, in our community. Over the years, I’ve served meals with Meals on Wheels, volunteered consistently at my children’s school, contributed to a nonprofit ebook, and recently joined the group working to continue the Montreal West Horticultural Society.

• I have been a Montreal West resident for close to 45 years. I grew up in this town, and I am fortunate enough to raise my family here! We have always enjoyed the small town feel within the large city. The community, its parks and green spaces, activities and of course the people are what makes the town special!

  • With this in mind, this year, after talking to my amazing family and some of our citizens, I decided to take the leap and run for town council.

  • I am absolutely not a politician. I am a resident who has seen the town evolve and grow by leaps and bounds. I have on numerous occasions taken issues, concerns and opportunities to council, with no action or accountability. I am an excellent listener, accountable and transparent, and take decisive action and sustainable action.

I am excited to officially launch my campaign for re-election as Councillor for Seat 1. It has been a privilege to serve our community for the last 4 years.  17 years ago, along with my husband Jeff, we chose Montreal West to put down roots and raise our daughter, Avah. We need to thrive as a commUNITY, with a strategic plan to be prepared and future forward.

Prior to running for council in 2021, I was active for over a decade in the Town as a member for the Community Services Council, Young Families Roundtable and chair of the Edinburgh Governing Board. I have honed a strong skillset based on the principles of communication, transparency, accountability, good governance and fiscal rigor. I have made significant inroads in building relationships with our community partners including the SPVM, exo, CPKC and our three EMSB schools and I recognize that we have challenges ahead.

Montreal West has been home to my family for the past ten years, and for the last eight, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) as a non-architect member. I initially served as a regular member and more recently as a backup member. Part of the reason for stepping down as a regular member was due to the current way files were processed and handled. That experience has given me a deep appreciation of our town’s strengths while also exposing areas where changes could have the largest impact. The PAC requires an overhaul to develop a more streamlined permit process and increase trust in residents’ judgment.

By profession, I’m an accountant with over twenty years of experience in finance, construction, and public tenders. I also owned (until 2021) an excavation and construction company, which taught me how clear rules and optimized procedures make projects take form and become realized. Over the years, I’ve contributed to major public projects, such as hospital expansions and city infrastructure modernization. And also lead my team through one of the most complex modern excavation projects the city of Montreal has ever seen, the Grand Prix paddocks. I’ve seen firsthand how transparency and collaboration drive success to the benefit of all.

One of the reasons I announced early was to meet as many residents as possible to better help me create my PAC reform plan.

One area close to my heart is heritage preservation. Having worked directly with ancestral buildings and restoration projects, I believe we can protect the historic character that defines Montreal West while allowing smart, modern improvements that make our homes safe, efficient, livable and most importantly, make the process fair to all.

I first settled on Westminster North in early 2021 and later moved to Radcliffe Road in 2022 to be closer to family. Since that time, I’ve had the privilege of engaging directly in our community — contributing in small yet meaningful ways to make Montreal-West a safer, more harmonious, and welcoming place for everyone, from young families and seniors to cyclists, motorists, and pedestrians alike.

Community Service and Local Safety Initiatives

In recent years, I’ve worked closely with Montreal-West Public Security to ensure critical safety signage — including stop signs, school-zone markings, and crosswalks — remain visible and unobstructed by trees or foliage. Thanks to collaboration between Public Security and Public Works, these obstructions were promptly addressed, improving visibility, compliance, and safety for all.

During the Westminster Overpass construction (August–September 2025), I also partnered with the SPVM to advocate for stronger police presence, targeted patrols, and coordination with Town officials and Public Works. These joint efforts led to greater visibility and safer conditions for seniors, pedestrians, and children walking to Edinburgh and Elizabeth Ballantyne schools.

What began as a personal effort to improve traffic safety near Edinburgh Elementary — where my niece and nephews attend — evolved into a broader collaboration with SPVM Station 9 to enhance patrols and enforcement in all school zones across Montreal-West.

  • There has been quite a bit of discussion over the last few months via text and over a beer or two that in order to do things properly, the next council should be cohesive, competent, transparent and ready to work.

  • To execute properly we would like to make a complete sweep of the current council. We thank the current council for their service, but it’s time for decisive change.

  • So what’s the vision? Growing up in this area I always knew Montreal West to be a wonderful, clean, neighborly neighborhood. While that is still true overall, the transparency of the leadership, the safety and cleanliness of the roads and parks and the increasing sense of separation between the townsfolk and the town leadership is apparent. ACCLAIMED !!!

  • Many of you know me from Mini-Cout, the local convenience store my father opened some 45 years ago. Growing up, I spent many summers here in Montreal West ,at the park, by the pool, attending Royal West, and at countless community events.

  • A decade ago, I was fortunate to move my family into this community, so our children could experience the same charm that makes Montreal West such a special place.

  • Running the store has kept me closely connected to the people who live here. Through these daily interactions, in recent years, I’ve sensed a shift in the sense of connection and shared purpose that helped make this town a beacon over its 128-year history. That kind of constant, real-time connection gives me a grounded understanding of what’s working, what’s not, and where people feel unheard. I believe I’m in a unique position to help represent you on council by being approachable and responsive to the questions and concerns of friends and neighbours.  More...
